LIFEGUARDS
– Seeking motivated individuals to serve as seasonal lifeguards for the upcoming season, May 25- September 2 at the Hickory Park Pool.  The hourly rate is $15.00 an hour for a certified lifeguard.  New Hanover Township is willing to pay for the American Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard training course for the successful uncertified candidates. The successful candidates will be responsible for a variety of tasks required to ensure the safety and welfare of members at the pool which includes prevention of accidents, lifesaving, and assistance with the concession stand.  By the start of employment, candidates must possess a current certification in Lifeguard Training and Community First Aid and Safety from the American Red Cross, YMCA, or other recognized agency-offering instruction in aquatics.  Candidates must possess a current certification by the American Red Cross in CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  Candidates must be at least fifteen years of age at the start of employment.  Previous swim instructor and lifeguarding experience is desired, but not mandatory.  Must pass drug/alcohol/physical exam.  Candidates need to fill out and complete an employment application and email it to Sharon DelPorte at sdelporte@newhanover-pa.org.
