Public Works


The Public Works Department provides for the maintenance of local roads and municipal-owned properties.  The Township maintains about 80 miles of roadways and the township's parks and other lands.  This office is located behind the Township's Main Building (2943 North Charlotte Street) and  is available Monday through Thursday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM

The department is responsible for the following:

  • sweeping roads
  • mowing detention basins and open space islands
  • maintenance of township buildings
  • maintenance of township vehicles and equipment
  • repaving roads
  • guiderail maintenance
  • lining highway lanes
  • painting pedestrian crossing and "caution" markings
  • repairing and installing rails
  • erecting street and regulatory signs
  • repairing street lights and traffic signals
  • maintaining storm sewers
  • patching pot holes
  • filling sink holes
  • removing fallen trees and limbs from roads
  • spreading salt for ice control on roads
  • removing snow from roads
