New Hanover Township “free schools” started in 1850 with the operation of 10 one-room schools. The township-run school system closed in 1949, but all of the buildings still stand today.

Summer Camp 2024

The Township in conjunction with the Boyertown YMCA is offering a summer camp program at the New Hanover Community Park for children residing in New Hanover and neighboring municipalities.  Registration will open to residents on March 18th and non-residents on April 24th.

Camp is open to children who have completed kindergarten to completed sixth grade.
The first session will be held June 24th to July 5th (no camp July 4th). The second session will be held July 8th to July 19th.
The program will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, weather permitting.
