Cold in-place recycling starting April 23

We are pleased to advise that road improvements are scheduled to take place on Hill Road soon. We will be conducting a process known as cold in-place recycling (CIR), which is a method of removing and reusing the existing asphalt surface. It involves grinding off the top 2 to 5 inches of the existing asphalt surface and mixing the crushed asphalt with an asphalt recycling agent, and placing it back down with a paver.

There are three important dates you need to be aware of as we complete these improvements:

 -        April 23 – May 4 – We will be replacing drainage pipes and performing certain road improvements.

 -        May 14 – May 18 – Recon Construction will be performing the CIR process on behalf of the Township.  This is the first part of the road project.

 -        May 29 – June 1 – We will add a 2-inch overlay of blacktop on top of the CIR.  This is the second part of the road project.

Hill road will be closed off to the public during our process, but you will be able to access it as needed.  Please note our timeline may change depending upon the weather at that time.
