Up until about 1850, every church had its parochial school beside it. The school house of the Swamp Reformed Church (Leidy Road and Swamp Pike) was demolished about 1955.

LIFEGUARD – New Hanover Township Parks and Recreation Department, Montgomery County, PA seeks a skilled, experienced and energetic individual to serve as a Lifeguard at the Hickory Park Pool. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety and welfare of those in attendance at the pool. The candidate must possess, at the minimum, a current certification for Lifeguard, First AID and CPR; effective communication and leadership skills; the ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies; knowledge of lifesaving methods and procedures.  -  New Hanover Township Authority, Montgomery County, PA seeks a skilled and experienced individual to serve as its Wastewater Operator III.  This successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the WWTP facilities and collection system.  Candidate must possess both mechanical and electrical aptitude.  Previous wastewater experience is desirable but will train candidate that meets the other job requirements as described in job description located on the township website.  FT, 40 hrs/wk with OT required when needed.  Participate in on-call, weekend and holiday rotation.  Must be able to perform manual labor and lift 80 lbs.  Possess a PA DEP Wastewater System Class B Subclass 1,4 Operator Certification or the ability to acquire within 18 months of hire.  A valid PA CDL B with air brakes and tanker endorsement and clean driving record or the ability to acquire the license within 6 months.  Must pass drug/alcohol/physical exam.  EOE.
