PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR—New Hanover Township (population 10,900), Montgomery County, PA seeks a skilled, experienced and energetic individual to serve as its Parks and Recreation Director.  The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the Parks and Recreation Department while assisting the Township Manager with other tasks as necessary. The candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation and Parks Administration or a related field; three years of recreation experience in a supervisory capacity preferred; possession of the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) Certification offered by the National Recreation and Parks Association or obtain it within six months of hire; effective communication and leadership skills; and knowledge on how to operate a municipal pool. WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY OPERATOR III -  New Hanover Township Authority, Montgomery County, PA seeks a skilled and experienced individual to serve as its Wastewater Operator III.  This successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks required to ensure proper operation and maintenance of the WWTP facilities and collection system.  Candidate must possess both mechanical and electrical aptitude.  Previous wastewater experience is desirable but will train candidate that meets the other job requirements as described in job description located on the township website.  FT, 40 hrs/wk with OT required when needed.  Participate in on-call, weekend and holiday rotation.  Must be able to perform manual labor and lift 80 lbs.  Possess a PA DEP Wastewater System Class B Subclass 1,4 Operator Certification or the ability to acquire within 18 months of hire.  A valid PA CDL B with air brakes and tanker endorsement and clean driving record or the ability to acquire the license within 6 months.  Must pass drug/alcohol/physical exam.  EOE.   Click here for the full job description.
